How can Acupuncture treat Fertility Issues in Women?

The popularity of acupuncture has prompted several professional acupuncture centers to come up lately to provide relief to people suffering from various health ailments. Acupuncture in Auckland is provided by specialized practitioners. From stress and pain-related issues to depression and insomnia, acupuncture is seen to be extremely beneficial. But its role in treating fertility issues in women certainly deserves to be noticed and known.

Now, in order to reap the benefits of acupuncture, women should be committed to a proper health plan. It could require several sessions before the actual results start showing. A specialized TCM practitioner conducts a careful analysis to identify your imbalances and recommends a proper acupuncture plan to treat infertility.

    Acupuncture and infertility

There are several studies that show how acupuncture can effectively treat infertility in women. A number of women nowadays are opting for acupuncture to fulfill their dream of being a mother!

Acupuncture proves effective in treating infertility in the following ways:

    Reduces stress

Stress is one of the common reasons why women face problems during the ovulatory menstrual cycle. Stress hormones like cortisol is known to disrupt the interactions between the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and the female reproductive system. This impedes of ovulation, contributing to the cause of female infertility. Acupuncture helps in reducing stress by releasing beta-endorphin which calms the body, thus countering the effects of cortisol. Acupuncture also increases blood flow to the uterus and ovaries, thus enhancing fertility and regulating the menstrual cycle.

    Regulates fertility hormones

A common cause of infertility is an imbalance of fertility hormones. For instance, an imbalance of the essential fertility hormones such as follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), and luteinizing hormone (LH) has been shown to prevent the release of mature eggs from the ovary. Similarly, elevated levels of hormones such as prolactin, which is important in the production of breast milk, can also prevent ovulation. Moreover, the fetus is unable to remain attached to the uterus with insufficient levels of progesterone, resulting in miscarriages. Acupuncture has been shown to work on women' fertility hormones, restoring their balance and regulating ovulation in women.

    Boosts immunity

Immunological disorders in women often create problems during ovulation. But acupuncture works on these detrimental factors and boosts a woman's immunity. It works on the root cause of the problem and eliminates it to improve fertility.

    Improves egg quality

Acupuncture is seen to restore balance in the pituitary-hypothalamus-ovarian axis, thereby improving the quality of eggs. It can normalize the levels of central opioids, which regulates the pituitary-hypothalamus-ovarian axis. It is, thus, capable of solving a number of ovulatory issues.

Reduces the side effects of Clomid

Clomid is the reason behind thinning uterine lining, which can cause complications during pregnancy. Acupuncture can reverse these effects and increase blood flow to the uterus. This helps women in having a healthy and complication-free pregnancy.

"Hi. I never did follow up with you because I didn't want to jinx my pregnancy but wanted to let you know I gave birth to two healthy baby boys in June! Thank you for all of your help along our IVF journey. I really think the Accupuncture and herbs significantly increased my uterine lining and hence my ability to hold a healthy pregnancy. My largest lining during previous transfers was 6.9 and after seeing you it was 9.0mm! Here are our boys! Thanks again. -K. Walker"
